So there is an error there as well.
I'd suggest that you test with -current quagga (from CVS), and read
the code  in ospfd near AllSPFRouters group membership manipulation,
and perhaps change errors to warnings so that e.g. failing to leave
the group is not an error, and perhaps even failing to join (since a
cause of failing to join can be that the group is already joined).

It isn't clear to me what the right OS behavior is when a socket is
joined to a group on an interface and the interface goes away.  All
that's clear is that this case isn't very well thought out and
documented...
