Because wireless interfaces can come up in any order via PCMCIA we need
a way to definitively refer to an interface for configuration of various
services such as dhcp etc. To do this we rename interfaces based on
their mac address as they are brought up using the nameif utility. This
occurs in the pcmcia scripts that are run when the wireless cards are
'inserted'. 

So basically they are exactly the same interface, the name just changes.
This renaming happens before the interface is configured with an IP
address etc.
