[quagga-dev 5936] Ptp interfaces under Linux

Hi guys,

I'm getting these errors when a pppd interface goes down, then comes
back up.

2008/09/09 14:34:21 ZEBRA: warning: PtP interface ppp1 with addr
192.168.254.4/32 needs a peer address

I have a RIP route setup for 192.168.2.0/24 to point to 192.168.254.254
which is the endpoint of the interface.

...
ip route 192.168.2.0/24 192.168.254.254 199
...

ppp1 Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol
           inet addr:192.168.254.4 P-t-P:192.168.254.254
Mask:255.255.255.255
UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
           RX packets:10696 errors:2 dropped:2 overruns:0 frame:0
           TX packets:8415 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
           collisions:0 txqueuelen:3
           RX bytes:10195667 (9.7 Mb) TX bytes:1060473 (1.0 Mb)

My requirement is when this ppp interface comes up, the route will be
added. I cannot use ppp1 as the interface name to route traffic over as
the ifindex changes each time the ppp interface goes down or comes back
up, using the destination endpoint should work nicely.

Seems something is wrong though as I"m getting the above warning and the
route isn't coming up. The route is however added when I restart quagga
no problem.

Kind Regards
Nigel
